I am an out of network provider and do not contract with any insurance companies. If you have out of network benefits I can provide you with a Superbill after each session that you can submit to insurance for reimbursement from them directly according to your plan. I encourage you to reach out to your insurance company to find out about your coverage and benefits.
I have chosen not to contract with insurance companies so I can provide the best possible care for my patients and not be restricted by insurance limitations (i.e. unnecessary PT referrals, out of pocket maximums/deductibles, or limitations in frequency/duration). I work for you. Together we will build your treatment plan, determining what kind of interventions are needed and for how long based completely on you—your history, your story, your body, your goals. I take time to examine and treat you holistically and progress appropriately.

I believe that physical therapy should be accessible to everyone and I also know that out of network therapy can be a financial barrier to care. Because of this I reserve a limited number of spaces on my schedule for sliding scale appointments. If this is something you need, please inquire to learn more.

White Pine Pelvic Health always provides one-on-one individualized and uninterrupted treatment sessions. I have a hybrid practice and can see clients for appointments in my clinic or in their homes. You will not be bounced around between providers, passed off to an assistant, or have sessions shorter than 60 minutes. This allows your care to be more personalized, effective, and efficient. Additionally, as an independent provider I am available to connect if questions arise regarding your treatment plan and you need to touch base.

I am based on Bainbridge Island and regularly provide in-home services for clients on Bainbridge and around Poulsbo. If you live outside of this region and would like to work together for in-home sessions, please reach out to me. I do see clients outside of these areas for an additional travel fee.

Unfortunately, no. While White Pine Pelvic Health is not able to see Medicare patients for physical therapy services we are able to offer individualized private yoga sessions to these clients.

In Washington State you do not need a referral to be seen by a physical therapist. If you are planning on utilizing out of network benefits please check with your insurance company to verify if they require a referral for reimbursement.

In your first session we will spend important time together discussing your history. This will include injuries, medical history, pregnancy histories, birth experiences, and other insights you feel comfortable sharing about your body and what is going on for you. Following this a physical assessment will include your movement patterns, range of motion, strength, mobility, breath patterns, posture and everything else that is specific to you and your care. Throughout the session as we uncover elements that are driving imbalance in your body we’ll incorporate treatment interventions and education to empower you on your wellness journey. We'll build a treatment plan and discuss what frequency and duration of care can look like for you.

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles within the pelvis that aid in supporting bowel, bladder, and sexual function. They’re also integral to our deep core, impacted by hormones, and uniquely affected by our nervous system. Pelvic floor PT is similar to other types of physical therapy as it focuses on optimizing function of the nerves and muscles in this region. Because the pelvic floor is a foundational group of muscles to our being, treatment is reflective of this and often times more holistic when compared to other types of therapy. Interventions are likely to include muscle work, flexibility and strength training, therapeutic exercises, breath and postural awareness, lifestyle, nutrition, stress management conversations, and more.
-
A direct external and internal exam of the pelvic floor muscles is the gold standard of treatment for this region. Assessment does not involve stir-ups or a speculum, it is much more gentle and can be done using a gloved finger placed externally on the muscles just inside the sitbones as well as internally vaginally (or rectally in some cases). With any muscle examination in the body physical therapists are experts trained to use our hands to assess areas such as coordination, mobility, strength, and reflexes.
For any reason an indirect examination may be preferred and this is always an option. The pelvic floor is a sensitive region and holds a lot. Our sessions are a safe space to hold presence and work in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
-
I’d suggest keeping your appointment. There are no contraindications to working on the pelvic floor when menstruating, or depending on your preference we can focus this session’s interventions on areas outside of the pelvis. This can be an opportunity for manual work, stretching, breath balancing and so much more.

I treat the body as a whole and never isolate one region from the rest. Recognizing the interconnectedness of our beings creates space for holistic interventions and sustainable relief. I have extensive training in orthopedic conditions and work to listen to the unique story your body tells.

White Pine Pelvic Health strictly adheres to all guidelines put in place by the Washington State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control, including being a fully vaccinated health care provider. I ask all clients to be mindful of our community health and collective safety as it pertains to infection spread, especially as my practice serves a higher risk population of pregnant people and families with young children. Please screen yourself for any cold or flu-like symptoms prior to your session. You will not be charged a late cancellation fee for any illness related reasons. If you or someone in your family tests positive for Covid-19 please follow the updated isolation guidelines from the Washington State Department of Health, found HERE.
